Artisan Power is making Medical Donations to help fight COVID-19

Apr 9th 2020

We at Artisan Power have been closely following COVID-19 since the outbreak first started in China. While this pandemic continues hurt our communities, our country, and the world, we have seen numerous positive stories of people and businesses offering up whatever help they can to aid Hospitals and Communities in need. These stories have inspired us as a small business to use our resources to try and make a difference in our greater communities, and we hope our story will help inspire others to do the same!

Last week we sent our first donation of 1000 Medical Face Shields, which we divided up and sent to hospitals in our area. We also donated some smaller quantities of face shields to local doctors, nurses and our own employees with family members working in the medical field. We have already received feedback from hospitals that our face shields were much needed and are being used by healthcare professionals on the front lines!

Face shields are not a regulated PPE (personal protective equipment) so there aren’t any specific FDA requirements needed to qualify them for healthcare use, making them easier to attain and donate than some other products.

As a small company we have limited resources, however we have been able to work with our sales channels, supply chains and our manufacturing partners in Taiwan and China to find supplies. Some supplies can only be fulfilled in small quantities, where others require large orders. Many items that were out of stock or scarce are becoming more readily available, and delivery of orders may not take as long as previously expected. We are in the works of acquiring more types of needed medical gear that we can continue to donate.

It’s never too late to help and you’re never too “small” to make a difference. There are so many ways that you as an individual can make a difference, even if you lack the resources for medical supply donations. Small business or an individual? Consider reaching out to others in your network and combining funds and sources to create a group order or team, split the costs and responsibilities.

The entire world is in this battle together, and we can all make a difference!

We would love to help in any way – please reach out to us if you have any specific questions about our process of finding, ordering and donating supplies. We would love to help you help your community by sharing our experience, and hope this inspires other to do the same!
